What's the Connection between Ball Mill Efficiency and Cylinder Liner?

In order to improve yield and production efficiency, now more and more mines are adopting large sized equipment. As the key equipment of the grinding process in ore dressing plants, the operating efficiency of large-size ball mill usually has a great impact on the running costs of the whole beneficiation production, so we must reduce the downtime of ball mill. Clients often speak of ball mill efficiency and ball-adding quantity. Then, what is the reasonable and scientific ball-adding quantity? And why the efficiency of ball mill declines after running for a period ?

For ball mill, there exists a large amount of grinding media, massive ore materials and ore pulp in its interior. Its operating condition is very complex. So inside the cylinder, there is usually equipped with liner board. Liner board not only can protect the ball mill cylinder when in such grinding environment with physical or chemical corrosion, but also can raise the grinding medium together with the ore materials to a certain height through the protruded wavelike or trapezoidal lifter bars on the liner board and make them generate a series of movements. As you see, this form of grinding will led to a continuous wear to the liner board. With the wear to the liner, the lifter bars on the liner board will also change, which will affect the grinding efficiency of ball mill.

In addition, in the operation of ball mill, an important cause for closing down is to replace the worn and broken liner board. So it is necessary to improve the service life of liner board through a variety of manners, so as to effectively protect ball mill cylinder and improve its productivity.
