The Three Main Types of Flotation Cell

With the constant development of flotation cells in our country, the gap with foreign countries is constantly narrowing, and China flotation machine even keeps up with foreign advanced technical level. China has the ability to manufacture the largest cell flotation in the world.

According to the air inflation and mixing methods of flotation cells, it can be divided into three types: mechanical agitation flotation machine, inflatable agitation flotation machine and inflatable flotation machine.

1. Mechanical Agitation Flotation Machine

The inflation and agitation of the ore pulp is completed by the mechanical mixing device formed by the impeller and the rotor, so that it belongs to external air self-absorption cell-flotation. The advantages of this type of flotation machine include ability to absorb air and ore pulp by itself, realization of self flow in the returning process of middle ore, few accessory machines, comprehensive equipment configuration and simple and easy operation and maintenance, and its disadvantages include low air inflation amount, high electricity consumption and high abrasion.

2. Inflatable Agitation Flotation Machine

Inflatable agitation flotation machine not only has mechanical mixing device, but makes use of the air blower especially set outside the machine to force the air in. However, the mechanical mixing device generally only has the functions of mixing the ore pulp and distributing the air flow, and the air is mainly pressed in by the external air blower, and the air inflation of the ore pulp and mixing is separated. For this reason, this type of flotation machine has the following features compared with common mechanical cell-flotation:

(1) The air inflation amount can be increased or decreased according to the specific needs, and is easy to be adjusted, which is conducive to improving the processing capacity and separation index of the flotation machine.

(2) The impeller does not have air absorption function, so that the rotating speed is low, power consumption is low and abrasion is small, and the crisp minerals are not easy to have argillization.

(3) Due to high processing capacity and shallow trough, the electricity consumption for unit processing amount is low.

The disadvantage of this type of flotation machine is that it needs to be equipped with a set of compressed air system, and sand pump is need to lift and convey the middle products when they are returned.

3. Inflatable Flotation Machine

Inflatable flotation machine does not have mechanical mixing machine or driving part, but it has a forcing fan specially set to provide the air used for air inflation. Flotation concentrator belongs to this type of flotation plant. The advantages of this type of flotation machine are simple structure and easy production, and its disadvantages are that without mixing machine, the flotation effect is influenced, and the aerator is easy to accumulate calcium, which is not beneficial to air dispersion.
